The Story So Far
The South West Stokies was founded over 20 years ago, but even before this, people from the Bristol and Gloucestershire areas had got in touch with each other either through the internet, word of mouth or the Southern Supporters club (which was long established but South East centric), to share their passion for stoke city and in turn travel to games. Now we have an extended reach with members in places such as Derby, Coventry and Bedfordshire.
About
As more people became aware that there was an active supporter base in the South West, it was decided by those who had been sharing travel to start an active club where we could organise tickets and social events, as well as travel.
Those three things are the pillars upon which the club was built and thrives today.
We are a family friendly supporters club, with a very mixed age range and whole families who are members.
The club is centred still around Bristol/Gloucester and most members live in those areas, but we do have active members from far and wide.
Members are here for the craic and camaraderie as well as creating some lifelong friends. Sometimes that can be more important than the football, particularly on a bad away day! Decent beer and cider, and some great away day pubs round off the SWS experience.
Aim

To help people living in the South West to be active supporters of Stoke City Football Club but also to have fun in doing so!

Organising tickets and travel wherever possible. As a member, you will be offered help in getting match tickets and transport to all Stoke games, whether it be arranging lift shares, organising occasional minibuses or coordinating group train travel.

We also organise a number of social events during the course of each year. Details of forthcoming events will appear on this website and the Facebook page and it is always great to see as many as our members as possible at these events. No airs, no graces - just turn up and have some fun with fellow Stokies.
